Sixth Form Transition

Transition From Year 11 To Sixth Form

We look forward to welcoming year 11 students into the sixth form as they embark upon the next stage of their journey at Ormiston Shelfield Academy. This is an exciting time for students but is important to acknowledge that the step up from GCSE to level three courses is significant. To help studies students to navigate this and ensure they are well prepared for the sixth form studies we provide transition work for students who have secured a place in sixth form.

For each level 3 course there is a transition pack which includes preparatory work which must be completed before students commence their studies in September. These transition tasks were shared with students who attended our transition days earlier in July. For those students who didn’t attend these sessions these can be found below. These tasks are designed to give students an introduction into the topics and concepts they will explore next year. Completing these tasks will help students make a strong start and ease the transition from Year 11 to Year 12. Students need to download and complete these for each of their chosen subjects. Students need to bring these with them of the first day of the Autumn term.
