Attendance & Punctuality

OSCA’s Sixth Form is a full-time establishment and students are required to attend every day, including registrations, all timetabled lessons, non-contact sessions, assemblies, exams and other notified times. If students arrive in registration after 8:40 they will be marked as late and a 20-minute same day tutor detention will be issued.  

Absences will be checked and students who regularly fail to attend lessons, study periods, assemblies, tutor reviews or registrations can expect their parents to be contacted. All unauthorised absences from Sixth Form will be regarded as truancy, as failure to attend without good reason indicates a lack of commitment to study.  

For planned absences such as appointments or interviews students must complete a Planned Absence form prior to attending their appointment. All absences will be regarded as unauthorised unless we have been notified of a valid reason.
